Sept 13, 2000

• More beautiful shots of Spitfires.  This time from Bob Rowley See the builders pages.  And a link to Fantasy Land!  Peter Croser and Mike Aitchison from Australia have created a web page detailing the construction/restoration of their Spitfire bl628.  A must see!

• Wow! man can life take some time.  Anyhow after a fun season of teaching my kids to fly (not over yet) I may start building again!  Roger has very kindly provided some pictures of his FW190 from Pica.  Take a look.  Also added some photos from our Scale masters competition.

Sept 21, 1999

• The latest spitfires to make the other builders page are from Chad Veich .  Check out his 1/5 spit and his "Tiffy".

Sept 3, 1999

• Got some pictures from another Pica Spitfire builder in Austrailia (notice the inverted flight).  Changed Spit #2 page to other builders.  If you would like to add your project to these pages, send me an E-Mail and I will add them.

July 28, 1999

• Got a call from Morten Tanger at Pica.  Was impressed with the helpfulness towards the project.  Check out their site!  We talked about a few of the concerns I had mentioned in my log;  one being the die cutting, and the other the orientation of the jig.  Morten told me I had a very old kit (true, that's what happens when you buy from someone's basement hehe).  He assured me that the new kits have Laser cut parts from a CAD file and this has completely solved the slight misalignment.  He also commented on the difficulty in figuring out the wing jig for the elliptical wing.  The jig now has markings on it so you can't mess up.  So check out their site for your next project, they have new line of 1/12 scale stuff that looks REAL fun. • Wow, has it been  a while since I updated these pages!  Brad's spit (Spitfire #2) has added some more info on installing the retracts.

• I have been busy flying my Cap 21, and the $20 Bucks of Fun instead of building.  I hope to start building again in September.

• I am considering building changing Marks.  Peter Croser from Austrailia is rebuilding a Mk Vb BL628.  It has a colorful history! See the spit docs page

• This is a Corel Draw file of the cockpit that can be used as a template for constructing an instrument panel.  Thank you for all of the hard work Bob Tomlinson.  Bob is also building a spitfire. Cockpit.zip

Feb 8, 1999

• Added some more photos of creating the frieze aileron and the pocket for the RADS/RFDS to the  construction log.

• Also did some more checking of the dimensions against the blown up scanned 3 view.  It would seam that the wing is mounted too far back.  This is why I thought the nose was too long.  the saddle needs to be moved forward almost 2 inches.  I am really beginning to regret trying to make this as scale as possible.   But now that I have started, there is no way I am going to stop now.

• Well, Brad is going to shame me into working a little harder on my spit.  He has added 3 more photo's to his project as well as completing  some of the fuse.  Spitfire #2.

Jan 11, 1999

• The site has removed all references to Radio Control Online.  Seams they don't like to share advertising space with Flight Lines.  They commented on the fact that I had their banner at the bottom of some pages and Flight Lines banner at the top.  Had they actually gone through the site, instead of looking at just one page, they might have noticed that the banners alternated between pages.  It also took 3! messages to their Tech support to find out why my banner wasn't being shown.  Dave from Flight Lines has always been very prompt in answering questions and responding to suggestions.

• Updated the links page, plus a couple of new entries.  The photo lab says my pictures are blank? so I will have to reshoot the pictures of the friese ailerons.  Added a couple of more entries to the construction log

•    Cleaned up the copy of the Spitfire V Manual so it all loads now, and loads faster.
